Personal Statement

Settlements, settlements, settlements. All areas of the law depend on negotiated settlements, rather than litigation, to resolve most disputes. All of my clients, since 1982, are injured Michigan workers. Inability to work causes stress in all areas of life. I try to quickly end workers’ compensation disputes by intense negotiation of settlements. If that fails, I work closely with my partner, Jim Rettig, who takes workers’ cases to a formal hearing. Together, we make a very effective team -- resulting in thousands of settlements and favorable decisions.
